“But I can say that life is good to me. Has been and is good. So I think my task is to be good to it. So how do you be good to life? You live it.”
Morgan Freeman, one of America’s most distinguished actors, has won countless awards and the hearts of many with such legendary roles as Hoke Colburn in Driving Miss Daisy, Red in Shawshank Redemption, and, of course, God in Bruce Almighty. It’s no wonder he has a comically cult like following, and there’s no question that anyone would want to know him personally, or better yet, have Morgan Freeman as your BFF– with fringe benefits like these…
1. He could give you some pro golfing tips.
Since Freeman is the first American to record a par on the highest and longest par 3 hole in the world, the “Extreme 19th” hole at Legend Golf & Safari Resort in Limpopo, South Africa one handed, it’s fair to say he’s well qualified to help you improve your par.
2. One word: Documentary.
Getting in good with Morgan Freeman could, quite possibly, mean that he’d be available to narrate your life story in that soothing, mellow baritone voice of his– IF you ask real nice. But you’re on your own finding an author.
3. You could probably score some free honey.
Concerned about the environment, Freeman has started keeping bees. And just like acting and golf, when Freeman does something, he goes whole hog. He recently converted his 124 acre ranch (tiny, I know) in Mississippi into a bee sanctuary. If you’re super lucky, chances are you could wander through the fruit and magnolia trees there, take in the aromatherapy of clover and lavender, and bask in the general goodness of someone doing good for the world.
4. You can get high with Morgan Freeman.
Not that kind of high, so put the green away. The multi-talented Air Force veteran, Mr. Freeman has his private pilot’s license which he earned at the ripe age of 65. Who wouldn’t want a best friend that can take you up in a helicopter?
5. He’s huge into charities.
With Freeman being an inspirational person on so many levels, it’s no surprise that he loves to give back with donations as well. And in the millions, at that. He’s involved in causes like the American Red Cross, Plant Now, and Oceana.
So yeah, if you didn’t realize that you wanted Morgan Freeman as your BFF before, you sure do now. 😉
